Synchronized swim team at Mirador celebrates their 2nd annual performance in style

Mirador’s synchronized swim team is back at it again, but this time, their second annual Fourth of July performance was over the top, or perhaps a better description would be, it was under the sea. Disney’s live action blockbuster hit, The Little Mermaid, was released this summer making the theme a big hit across all of the generations in attendance. The customized routine featured music from the movie with a mermaid taking the spotlight on a platform in the center of the pool. “We thought, why not bring in a mermaid? "said resident, senior swimmer and water aerobics instructor Trudy Kenyon.

The mermaid, Anne Gale, is the daughter of former charter member residents at Mirador. She was more than enthusiastic to play the part and even took photos in a themed photobooth with willing attendees. The pool was surrounded with so many excited audience members of all ages that it was practically standing room only.

The group has enjoyed launching what has been deemed as a Fourth of July tradition for the community with two years under their belt and future plans to continue.
